According to recent information from energypress, the guide is almost ready and is expected to be released in the coming days, certainly before the end of the year.

It is reminded that this program has been announced for several months without, however, progressing to its announcement. According to the latest information, the guide, which will include all necessary details, is nearly finalized, and the intention of the Ministry of Environment and Energy (YPEKA) is to proceed to the next step very soon.

The same sources indicate that eligible projects will only be those combined with battery storage. Subsidies will be provided for both the photovoltaic system and the battery, with the difference being that the subsidy for the battery will be significantly higher compared to that for the photovoltaic installation.

It is worth noting that the eligibility of projects has been a topic of intense discussion among stakeholders, with indications now pointing towards projects combined with battery storage. Previous versions of the program suggested that only “simple” photovoltaic installations would be eligible for subsidies, but according to current information, this is no longer the case.

As is known, the program has a budget of 160 million euros, funded by the Recovery Fund. The Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (HCAP) will be responsible for its implementation, following a procedural process similar to that of the “Photovoltaics on Rooftops” program, including platform opening and application submissions.

As reported by energypress, eligible systems will be “zero feed-in,” meaning they will not have the ability to inject excess electricity into the grid. Therefore, electricity generation can either be consumed directly (self-consumption) or stored in a battery for later use.

According to recent data from the Hellenic Association of Photovoltaic Companies presented by the association’s advisor Stelios Psomas at the 5th Renewable and Storage Forum organized by energypress in early November, the technically available capacity (GWp) targeted by the “Photovoltaic Systems in Businesses” program, i.e., industrial and commercial rooftops, is estimated at 11.25 GWp.
